Festive Napkin Rings

  • 1 sheet of green or red poster board
  • craft glue
  • 1 1/2" wide white flat lace 6" long for each ring
  • green felt (scrap piece will do)
  • 3 1/4" red pompoms per ring
  • paper scissors
  • pencil and ruler
  • clothes pins
  • Using ruler cut construction paper into 2" wide strips 6" long.
  • Cut lace into 6" strips also.
  • Glue lace in center of construction paper to cover full length of strip. (fig. 1)

  • Measure 3" from one end of your lace and construction paper strips and mark with your pencil.
  • Now at this mark measure 1" from edge of strip width .
  • Again mark with pencil to make an 'X'. (fig. 2)

  • Using the pattern provided, cut holy leaves out of green felt.
  • You will need two leaves for every ring to be made. (fig. 3)

  • At mark on strips glue the holy leaves you cut into a 'V' shape so that the bottom of 'V' is on the center of the 'X' you made. (fig. 4)

  • Now glue three red pompoms in a cluster at the bottom of the v shape made with the holy leaves. (fig. 5)

  • To finish your project glue the ends of the strip together overlapping 1/2" and clamp shut with clothes pin, let dry. (fig. 6)

  • Your napkin rings will be a beautiful addition to the table.
